Our region is seeing a diversification of industry calling West Central Indiana home.  One of our community's stronger character points is the people who live and work to make our regional community what it is today.  There is a "consensus" fostered among the community members and governmental agencies which brings a unique collaboration of leadership and creative solutions for the region's most challenging issues such as growth, management, transportation, green living, and intergovernmental cooperation.

In regards to livability, West Central Indiana offers a plethora of activities,  from NCAA National Championship events to the Blues Festival,  from regional shopping to the newly constructed 35,000-square-foot Terre Haute Children's Museum,  from various farmer's markets that bring together a wide range of producers to the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival.  The Covered Bridge Festival invites visitors to see 31 historic covered bridges while shopping local crafters and artisans.
