Terre Haute: Rise & Resilience is a story of the American experience. This program takes viewers through the history of Terre Haute, starting with its French colonial origin as "high ground" along the banks of the Wabash River. Post-revolutionary Terre Haute played host to some of the key players in the War of 1812, including William Henry Harrison, Zachary Taylor and the Native American Chief Tecumseh. During peacetime, the city was founded by wealthy real estate investors, and its prime location eventually turned it into one of the "gateways to the west." Watch a preview:

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Jan. 11, 2019) – Governor Eric J. Holcomb and local officials joined executives from Saturn Petcare, the largest private-label, pet food manufacturer in Europe, today as the company announced plans to establish its first U.S. facility in Vigo County, creating up to 200 new jobs by 2024. At the ceremony, the company unveiled a commemorative pet food label dedicated to Henry Holcomb, Indiana’s first dog, called Henry’s First Choice.

NEWPORT, Ind. (Nov. 20, 2018) – J & R Used Tire Service, which recycles tires to make new materials, cut the ribbon on its new Indiana facility today in Vermillion County. The company, which is relocating its operations from Illinois to Newport, plans to create up to 40 new jobs in Indiana by the end of 2022.

Saturn Petcare, pending approval of its bid Tuesday before the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission, is slated to begin production of wet dog food in the first quarter of 2020 in the former Pfizer facility at the Vigo County Industrial Park, south of Terre Haute.

WEST TERRE HAUTE -Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College plans to expand its campus in the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods historic district.

SWMC agreed to purchase 160 acres from the Sisters of Providence. The College plans to use the land for amenities, including possibly an equine event center, new athletic complex for baseball, tennis and track and field, locker rooms, press box facilities and parking.
