World Arts has announced plans to expand facilities located in Spencer. According to company officials, this will be the third building expansion since John T. Gillaspy acquired the business in 1993.

Couldn't finalize deal for Seelyville facility; still bringing 200 new jobs

Seelyville is out of the running as the location for Saturn Petcare Inc., but a former Pfizer building is in, meaning the company still intends to bring 200 new jobs to Vigo County.

Indiana Landmarks helps arrange donation of building and $110,000

Indiana Landmarks will restore the former First Financial Bank building at 643 Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute and, once completed, the structure will become the new home of CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center.First Financial CEO and President Norman L. Lowery said the bank is donating the structure to Indiana Landmarks, plus contributing $110,000 to help Indiana Landmarks stabilize it and jump-start the renovation.

"As our main office headquarters for 60 years, it represents a significant part of the bank's history of service to the community," Lowery said of the building opened in 1903.

INDIANAPOLIS - Lawmakers approved a bill during Monday's special legislative session that could clear the way for a new convention center or improvements to existing tourism facilities in Vigo County. House Bill 1242, which also involved several tax issues and exemptions, allows the county to make its own decision on a food and beverage tax to fund convention or tourism projects.
